Alimentaria is preparing a particularly strategic edition for the organic sector. From March 23 to 26, 2026, the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona<\/span><\/span> will bring together the leading players in foodservice, restoration, and equipment, in an edition where Organic Foods consolidates its role as one of the most dynamic and internationally projected areas, with the participation of more than 200 specialized companies.<\/p>\n

Organic Foods will undergo its biggest expansion in 2026. Hall 5 of the Gran Via venue will feature 1,450 m\u00b2 dedicated entirely to the organic world, with more than 200 brands and a pavilion for Spanish producers promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Companies such as Biocop, Eurosoy, Gourmet Eco Foods, Hortec, Jijona and Natruly will present a wide range of products including breads, cereals, chocolates, creams, certified agricultural products and snacks.<\/p>\n

At the international level, notable participants include groups such as the Jinju Bio Industry Foundation (Korea) and the Ecuadorian Federation of Exporters, as well as Italian companies Vivi Cos\u00ec, Molino Rivetti, and Good in Food, and French companies Aromatech and Nossa Fruits, among others, offering products such as breads, pastas, a\u00e7a\u00ed, flours, and flavourings.<\/p>\n

The exhibition brings together more than 200 specialist companies and reinforces its position as a benchmark in the national organic sector<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The growth of Organic Foods is part of collaboration agreements with strategic entities such as Ecovalia, one of the most influential organisations in promoting organic production in Spain; Asobio, which brings together the main national companies that produce and market organic products; and FIAB, the main representative of the Spanish food and beverage industry.<\/p>\n

Professional programme<\/h2>\n

A new feature of the show is La Plaza Eco<\/strong> project, a space for conferences, debates and networking where strategic connections between producers, distributors, experts and market agents will be fostered. La Plaza Eco will host, among other events, the premiere presentation of Ecovalia’s 2026 Annual Report, which provides a comprehensive overview of the market through key data on organic production and consumption in Spain.<\/p>\n

This space will also host the presentation of INTERECO’s 2025 Data Report, which brings together certification authorities from 16 autonomous communities and offers a comprehensive and complementary overview of the Spanish organic system. The programme will also include a round table on organic retail in the international market, which will bring together leading representatives from Poland and Dubai to analyse distribution models, consumer behaviour and expansion strategies in markets where organic products are experiencing particularly dynamic growth. The session will allow participants to compare experiences, identify opportunities and understand how demand is evolving in different international contexts of high strategic value for organic companies.<\/p>\n

Organic Foods 2026 will also incorporate the Ruta Eco<\/strong>, which will offer a selective tour of all Alimentaria + Hostelco exhibitors with organic products in their catalogues, providing professionals with a structured overview of new developments, trends and key opportunities in this sector.<\/p>\n

New content, key industry partnerships and an extensive professional programme make the exhibition a hub of innovation and business for the sector<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The international momentum will be complemented by the Alimentaria + Hostelco guest buyer programme, which will bring together leading operators in the organic market from Poland, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, Italy and the Middle East. Nearly 600 international buyers have already expressed their interest in this type of product, consolidating Organic Foods as a strategic space for expanding commercial connections and accelerating the development of the sector.<\/p>\n

The organic food market in Spain continues to grow steadily and sustainably, consolidating its position as one of the segments with the greatest potential within the mass market. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) and Ecovalia, the market is now worth over 3 billion euros. In fact, organic products are now found in practically all Spanish households. Around 70% of households buy some organic food throughout the year, with an average frequency of eight purchases per family, according to data from Nielsen, which puts the average annual expenditure per inhabitant at around 66\u20ac.<\/p>\n

Future connection between industry and the hospitality sector<\/h2>\n

Alimentaria+Hostelco, organised by Alimentaria Exhibitions, a Fira de Barcelona company, expects to attract around 3,300 exhibiting companies, occupying 100,000 m\u00b2 of net exhibition space and 7 halls, practically the entire Gran V\u00eda venue at Fira de Barcelona. The event, now in its 50th year, expects to welcome more than 110,000 trade visitors, 25% of whom will be international, reaffirming its leadership as the main platform for promoting business, internationalisation and networking.<\/p>\n
