The event will cover the alignment of <strong>CAP Strategic Plans with the EU Green Deal,<\/strong> expected changes in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/en\/2018\/04\/20\/new-eu-organic-regulation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>the new EU Organic Regulation<\/strong><\/a>, organic\u2019s contribution to climate change mitigation, sustainable food systems and <strong>rural development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-41123 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/LOGO_IFOAM_EUROPE_CAP\u00c7ALERA-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"391\" height=\"171\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This edition of the Congress is<strong> free of charge and seats are limited<\/strong>. The session will discuss to what extent national ambitions are in line with the EU Green Deal objectives, in particular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/en\/2020\/05\/21\/eu-25-agriculture-must-be-organic-by-2030\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the target to reach 25% organic land by 2030<\/a>. Thomas Legge, Director of Land Use &amp; Agriculture Programmes at the European Climate Foundation, will join the discussion on whether &#8220;climate neutrality&#8221; is a realistic and desirable goal for the agriculture sector, considering the current focus on efficiency and the potential trade-offs with biodiversity objectives.<\/p>\n<p>While the need to <strong>transition towards more sustainable food systems<\/strong> is largely recognized, the consensus on how to achieve this has not yet been reached.\u00a0Initiatives such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/en\/2021\/03\/25\/eu-new-ambitious-organic-action-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Organic Action Plan<\/a>, Green Public Procurement and other related initiatives will be at the core of the afternoon session on 17 June.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This edition of the Congress is free of charge and seats are limited<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Day 3: 18 June<\/h3>\n<p>The last day will hold &#8216;<strong>The new EU Organic Regulation &amp; Rural development<\/strong>&#8216; session, which focuses on the main challenges for organic operators in maintaining compliance with the EU rules. Whether and how the expected changes could impact reaching the Farm to Fork target of 25% EU organic land by 2030? This question will lead the conference on 18 June.<\/p>\n<p>The future development and attractiveness of rural areas will largely depend on improving the climate and environmental performance of farming.
