Under the slogan of &#8220;Together one step ahead&#8221;, FiBL is dedicating a series of events to its anniversary in 2023. Over the course of the year a wide range of individuals who have been associated with the institute in various ways will have their say on the FiBL website.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-73611 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/50-years-fibl.jpg\" alt=\"50 years FiBL\" width=\"800\" height=\"475\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/50-years-fibl.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/50-years-fibl-768x456.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/50-years-fibl-696x413.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.bioecoactual.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/50-years-fibl-707x420.jpg 707w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>1973-2023: 50 years of FiBL<\/h2>\n<p>On the 1st of February 1973, the <strong>Swiss Foundation for the Promotion of Organic Agriculture<\/strong> (Schweizerische Stiftung zur F\u00f6rderung des biologischen Landbaus) was established, thus laying the foundations for <strong>FiBL<\/strong>. The Wege und Ziele (pathways and goals) document, written in October 1973, sets out the then Foundation Council\u2019s vision for the future FiBL: &#8220;As a Research Institute of Organic Agriculture we initially envisage a relatively small and modest research group which is to grow organically to seven individuals.&#8221; Since the institute\u2019s establishment in 1974, FiBL has grown steadily. <strong>FiBL Switzerland<\/strong> currently has almost 300 members of staff, and the FiBL Group as a whole, with its other five sites in Europe, now employs more than 400 people.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fibl.org\/en\/locations\/switzerland\/50-years-of-fibl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anniversary webpage<\/a><\/strong> as part of the FiBL website looks back and ahead. You can take a look at the development of 50 years of FiBL in the image gallery or follow our on-going <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fibl.org\/en\/locations\/switzerland\/50-years-of-fibl\/50th-anniversary-voices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anniversary Voices series<\/a><\/strong>, which throughout the year will highlight the relationship between FiBL and senior figures in research, practice, politics, business and more, starting with Knut Schmidtke, Director of Research, Extension and Innovation and Chair of the Management Board at FiBL Switzerland.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Under the slogan of &#8220;Together one step ahead&#8221;, FiBL is dedicating a series of events to its anniversary in 2023<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The anniversary webpage also gives an overview of exciting upcoming events. The year 2023 will be eventful indeed: One of the first events in the series will be the <strong>16th Scientific Conference on Organic Agriculture<\/strong> (Wissenschaftstagung \u00d6kologischer Landbau WiTa) in March, under the slogan of \u201cone step ahead\u201d.
