On 27 November 2025, IFOAM Organics Europe hosted the first-ever Organic Food Forum (OFF) in Brussels, a new flagship event designed to unite Europe’s organic leaders and explore the future of the organic market. The forum brought together representatives from EU institutions, CEOs, retailers, processors, traders, certifiers, and innovators from across the organic value chain.

Throughout the day, participants discussed the main challenges and opportunities shaping Europe’s organic sector, with a strong focus on competitiveness, consumer trends, innovation, and the EU policy landscape in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028-2034. Strategic debates, interactive sessions, and policy-focused discussions formed the core of the programme, including a Dilemma Challenge on future business scenarios, a Big Picture panel on market competitiveness, the launch of IFOAM Organics Europe’s new Marketing Hub, and an Open Mic session featuring entrepreneurial stories.

The forum was also honoured to welcome Mihail Dumitru, Deputy Director-General of DG AGRI of the European Commission, who provided perspectives on the CAP budget in the next MFF, and trade agendas affecting the organic sector. Luis Carazo Jimenez, Head of Unit for Organics of DG AGRI, contributed with an overview of the state of play and future trajectory of the EU Organic Regulation. Their interventions helped set the tone for a substantive dialogue with representatives of the organic business community on how policy, regulation, and innovation can drive sustainable market expansion.

The event also spotlighted the continued strength of Europe’s organic market. Coop Danmark, for example, now sells 25 organic products every single second – a striking illustration of sustained consumer trust in organic quality, transparency, and responsibility. Speakers emphasised that this value-driven market is not slowing down – it is expanding, attracting new consumers, and inspiring companies to invest further in innovation and high standards.

At the Organic Food Forum, industry leaders and stakeholders examined where the strongest consumer trends are emerging, how to better communicate organic values, and what policy support is needed to maintain momentum.

By building on the strengths of previous gatherings — the Organic Food Conference and IFOAM Organics Europe Meets Business — the first-ever in-person edition of the Organic Food Forum established a dynamic space for cooperation within Europe’s organic community.
