The 21st edition of the Organic World Congress (OWC) will take place in Taiwan. From 30 November to 4 December, the global gathering of leaders, experts, practitioners, and enthusiasts in the field of organic agriculture and sustainability, is set to be hosted at the prestigious Nanhua University in Chiayi County, a renowned institution known for its commitment to education and environmental sustainability.
Cultivating Organic Solutions for True Sustainability
In its 21st edition, the Organic World Congress will showcase the latest advancements, research findings, and best practices in organic farming, agroecology, and sustainable food systems. Participants can look forward to engaging workshops, inspiring keynote speeches, informative panel discussions, and interactive exhibitions featuring cutting-edge technologies and products.
In addition to the main congress program, attendees will have the opportunity to explore Taiwan’s diverse organic farming landscape through field trips, farm visits, and cultural excursions. From traditional tea plantations in the misty mountains to thriving urban agriculture initiatives in bustling cities, Taiwan offers a fascinating glimpse into the possibilities of sustainable agriculture.

30 November – 1 December: Pre-Conferences
The first two days of the Congress, Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December, are reserved for cultural tours and workshops. At these, researchers, farmers, experts and students will be able to meet face-to-face and have interactive discussions on various topics, case studies and group discussions.
2 – 4 December: Organic World Congress
The Congress will start on Monday 2 December and will host numerous plenary sessions with top-level speakers until Wednesday. Sessions include: «Cultivating Organic Solutions for True Sustainability»; «Harvesting Knowledge: A collective exploration with Farmers and Scientists»; «Multiple Pathways to Market Success: Retail, Community supported Agriculture, PGS and Public Procurement»; and «Regional and National organic policy: Breakthroughs and lessons learnt across the globe».
5 – 6 December: General Assembly of IFOAM – Organics International
Every three years, the emblematic OWC is held in conjunction with the General Assembly of IFOAM – Organics International, involving thousands of organic farmers, producers, researchers, advocates, and policy experts from around the world. Held on 5-6 December, the General Assembly will close the program.
