The new frontiers of organic nuts and plant-based nutrition took centre stage at Biofach, led by the brands of Euro Company – one of Italy’s most innovative businesses in the European nut sector. At the international organic food trade fair in Nuremberg, the Italian company presented several trailblazing products developed for its Econoce brand, which focuses on organic nuts and 100% spreads. It also showcased Casa del Fermentino, an established name in the plant-based cheese alternative category.

Innovation, ethical and sustainable supply chain management, as well as expertise in sourcing and processing whole fruit and nuts are the hallmarks of the Econoce range. The brand’s exhibition space at Biofach hosted two new additions to its line of spreads, made from 100% organic nuts and dried fruit with no added sugars or fats. The first is an Italian hazelnut and carob spread: the intensity of the hazelnut meets the sweetness of the carob, a sustainable alternative to cocoa characterised by aromatic overtones. The result is a balanced, rich and velvety combination reminiscent of classic hazelnut spreads, designed to win over consumers from the very first taste.
The second product unveiled at the fair is a roasted nut and seed spread. Here, the roasting process brings out the aromatic notes of the nuts, while the seed mix adds complexity and a pleasant “crunchy” touch. It is ideal for those seeking bold character and original texture without sacrificing the wholesomeness and quality of the ingredients.
“The foods showcased in Nuremberg underscore our standing as a company focused on quality, a carefully managed supply chain and innovative solutions,” states Marco Casadei, Marketing Manager at Euro Company. “Thanks to these values, Econoce has become a true European benchmark, capable of offering retailers a variety of lines that attract consumers with constantly evolving products.”

Alongside Econoce, Euro Company also put the spotlight on Casa del Fermentino, a brand already well-established in the supermarket aisle for nut-based plant alternatives. “Casa del Fermentino offers a clear market positioning and a range designed to meet the growing consumer demand for high-quality plant-based options with a clean label,” explains Casadei. “The innovations we brought to Biofach further expand the line-up with two additions that have strong development potential in international markets.”
The first innovation is the ‘Freschissimo’ nut-based spread, an alternative to ricotta made from cashews, almonds and macadamia nuts. This nut blend ensures a soft, fresh texture for a spread designed to be versatile and ready for immediate use and enhances the natural subtlety of the whole-food ingredients.
The second is Gran Stagionato, a plant-based alternative to Parmesan. This is the most “finely matured” product in the Casa del Fermentino range, featuring two months of ageing. This latest addition is characterised by a firmer structure and greater aromatic intensity, developed to offer complex flavours and a more distinct profile within the plant-based universe.
“The new products generated significant interest from trade professionals at the fair, confirming Euro Company’s role as a pioneer for sustainable, market-leading innovations in the nut sector,” concludes Casadei.
