Growing cereals and legumes since 1800

A beautiful balance of tradition and innovation, Castello di Salasco has been farming for generations and is now using its know-how to create organic, high-quality food products. It has been cultivating cereals and legumes since 1800, in compliance with practices that safeguard the environment and its biodiversity.

The farm is located in the north-west of Italy, a few kilometres from Vercelli, the European capital of rice, fully immersed in the countryside of the Po Valley, which borders the Sesia River. This is the cradle that guards and preserves some of the most renowned varieties of cereals and legumes in the Italian tradition.

Castello di Salasco produces cereals (rice and corn) and pulses (soya, lentils and peas), from which it obtains delicate gluten-free flours. The company uses the most advanced cultivation techniques, combining traditional methods (SAI RISI) with organic farming and the use of minimum tillage and green manure techniques to make the fields as productive as possible in the most natural way and to minimise the use of fertilisers. Over the years, the company has always worked to respect and safeguard the biodiversity that characterises its land.

“We are using our know-how to create organic, high-quality products. One of our fields of interest is gluten —it’s a challenge for many of our customers; therefore, we offer a wide variety of gluten-free products”, the company points out.

Castello di Salasco offers a wide range of gluten-free Italian products such as rice, corn, pulses, flours, couscous, and prepared risottos. They are all organic and also free from lactose, sugar, and eggs. Additionally, their product line includes ketogenic-friendly flours like almond flour, perfect for those following low-carb and ketogenic diets while maintaining the brand’s commitment to high-quality organic ingredients.
