The application period for the ‘European Organic Awards’ is officially open until April 26. These awards aim to recognize European operators who contribute the most to strengthening, developing, and stimulating the organic value chain.

- Best organic processing SME
- Best organic food retailer
- Best organic restaurant or catering service
Who can apply?
Any operator, bio-district, city, or region that has developed and implemented, or is still implementing, an excellent, innovative, sustainable, and replicable project for organic production in the European Union can apply for the EU Organic Awards.

Why these awards?
Organic food and farming have direct positive effects on our climate, the environment, biodiversity, and animal welfare, and are based on four principles: care, health, ecology, and fairness.
Supporting this, any increase in organic production contributes to reduced use of fertilizers, chemical pesticides, and antimicrobials. Due to reduced or nonexistent inputs, organic food and farming improve biodiversity compared to conventionally managed fields. At the same time, organic practices maintain soil and plant health, building ecological and sustainable cycles while reducing environmental impacts and ensuring fairness regarding the common environment and life opportunities.
The European Action Plan includes the launch of annual awards that recognize excellence in the organic value chain.
Award ceremony and organizers
The awards will be announced on Monday, September 23, 2026, coinciding with the celebration of European Organic Day.
The European Commission, together with the European Economic and Social Committee, the European Committee of the Regions, COPA-COGECA, and IFOAM Organics Europe, organize this event.
